Be Present

I could be in the most beautiful place on earth, but if there’s a bug right in front of my face that’s all I’ll notice.

Family, community, a hard day’s work, a delicious meal – that’s the simple stuff that makes life beautiful! And so often that’s the stuff we don’t really notice. How many times have I come home and my little girl runs to me for a hug and I’m not fully present because of something annoying that happened at work? How many times have I raced through a meal my wife made because of the next thing I have to get to? How many days have passed by because I’ve been too busy making plans for tomorrow?

The moment you’re in right now is a gift from God! That’s why it’s called “the present.” Don’t let the blessings of today pass you by because of a little bug in front of your eye.
