Do your best. Forget the rest.

These are hard times right now during this coronavirus quarantine. In the midst of the fears, there are also new priorities heaped upon us. Talk about a recipe for stress! I mean, congrats, you’re suddenly a homeschooling family and you have seven different teachers sending you different topics that you have to get done every day. And your work is saying you can work from home, but you also have to get all of these other things done. So listen, here’s what I want to tell you right now: Do your best. Forget the rest. OK?

In our home, we have a schedule we’re keeping. Our kids are done homeschooling at X hour, even if we kind of failed or they kind of failed at it, and then we’re moving on to the next thing in the day. And at the end of the day, as you unwind a little bit, (or try to unwind) take it easy on yourself. You’ll get back to the grind of life. Trust me. You’ll get back to the phase where it’s easier to accomplish every to-do on your list. But right now, the top priority –  and you can’t forget this – is keeping yourself where you need to be in relation to God. And in the midst of all of those to-dos, we must be as loving and joyful as possible for the people around you.
