HEALTHCARE IN HAITI
At its core, the mission for healthcare in Haiti is to demonstrate the joy of Christ through basic healthcare services—to reach out to the poorest of the poor, from the young to the old—and act as the hands and feet of Jesus Christ.
Currently, at the St. Mother Teresa Medical Clinic, we’re providing care and treatment for the people in and around the villages of Duverger and Dandann.
This clinic allows women to give birth in a safe environment instead of alone in shabby huts. It also provides staff to perform important medical procedures, blood work, dental care, eye exams, and take x-rays—altogether saving countless lives and giving villagers a place for treatment.
Meet Gai—the Chief Resident Director at this clinic.
Every child deserves an education—and enough to eat.
Our vision with hunger solutions is just that—a solution for hunger…that every child receives one daily meal in their place of education. By providing a daily meal in a place of learning, the immediate needs of hungry children are met and they are encouraged to go to school to gain an education that can, in the future, be their ladder out of poverty.
Working together with those who share our vision, we believe there’s no good reason why every child can’t receive one daily meal in their place of education.
Meet Sarah. On a good day, it takes Sarah three hours to walk to school. She arrives tired and hungry, eagerly awaiting her morning meal.
“I’m shy about saying this,” she says, “but I used to skip school because of hunger. I was too tired to concentrate in class, so I would go looking for food. I really enjoy the (meal). It sustains me and helps me work. School makes me happy. I want to be a teacher one day. I dream of building my parents a house.”
By the end of this year, we will have partnered with organizations worldwide to FEED MORE PEOPLE, CARE FOR MORE PEOPLE, AND VISIT MORE PEOPLE than ever before—all while sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ.
You are truly helping save people’s lives. Let something new break into your life too—by helping us do even more.
